Holding Steady

Bronwyn's surgery is going to be next Thursday. We are meeting with the surgeon to discuss all the details on Tuesday. We are anxious and scared for this next phase - mostly wanting to just get dealing with it. Like Bronwyn we are all in stable condition for the moment!

We had a little birthday celebration for me the other night. Gavin didn't think it was necessary to wait until we actually sang happy birthday. He didn't care much for the cake but he loved the strawberries!! He definitely keeps us all hoping.

I wanted to ask those of our friends who pray to ad a little boy named Quinn to your prayer list. Him Mom and I were admitted to the hospital at the same time and discovered that we were both there to be induced and both our babies have the same condition. There little guy arrived earlier than Bronwyn. He is also in stable condition at the moment - but they were informed that he is not a good candidate for the Norwood surgery because he also has a problem on the right side of his heart (the tricuspid valve - I believe). He has been put on a transplant list. We ask that you pray that they will receive a heart that is compatible.

We have been surrounded by love and encouragement. I have even made a new friend in Edmonton - I started chatting to a gal named Sarah at the park on day before Bronwyn was born. She has a daughter Gavin's age. Last week she brought over a lasagna and muffins! How sweet was that eh? She is going to come on Monday night to see our lovely girl.

Again - we are so thankful for all of you and the encouraging notes - they mean more to us than you can imagine. We feel quite cut off from the world here - there is very little that is normal about what we are doing on a daily basis. The most normal thing is the daily hunt for a parking spot!

We love you all - God bless and keep you!

Happy Birthday to Gavin. I'm sure he's a very proud big brother. Will be thinking of you next week as you get all the details and as Bronwyn goes in for surgery.

All our love,
Aisling, Steve & the boys!

Oops, I meant to write 'Roberta' in the birthday part. Guess I was focusing too much on Gavin loving the strawberries. LOL

Happy belated birthday, Roberta. It is wonderful that you have made a connection with some people there...it is amazing how God puts us in places that we least want to be/expect to be because he has a plan that is greater than us. There are prayers being said for you across this country (well, I can only definitely confirm Sundridge and Carmen, but I am pretty sure there are more than that!) so stay positive as you venture into this scary territory.

Thinking of you always,

Mel, Scott & Cadence

Hi to all
Hope you are all truly holding steady today. I am so pleased that Sarah is coming to see you again on Monday. Meeting her was definitly a God-incident!
Praying constantly for your beautiful little girl and for peace and good rest for all of you. How is the clever wee man doing? Give him a hug for me.

Sad news about little Quinn. I will pray earnestly for a new heart for him and courage for family.

Love to all,
Joan

Hi Wes & Roberta,
Debbie Paiement passed on your blog to us, so we've been keeping up a bit with what is all happening with your little family. Sounds like you've had good care so far and we pray all goes well in the next little while to get that little girl back in your arms! LaWanda & Dana

Hello,

We both want to let you know that we are thinking about you and you are always in our prayers. We are glad to hear that your little girl is holding strong and you can trust we will be with you in prayer as the surgery approaches this week. We love you guys and wish we could be closer to you right now. I am so thrilled to hear that God is placing people in your life to help support you while you are in Edmonton - Sarah sounds like a wonderful blessing. We will add little Quinn to our prayer list too.

All our love,
Drew and Erin

Hi Davis family!
We have been keeping up with you through Mike and Andrea while on holidays, but we're back now, so I can email you directly. Congratulations on the safe arrival of Bronwyn! We were glad to hear that she is doing well. Happy Birthday, Berta (I thought of you as we celebrated Mark's birthday on the same day). We are praying for Bronwyn's surgery and recovery and for you all as you see her through it together. Loved seeing her pictures - She really is lovely!

Love, Jackie, Mark, Evan and Rachel

Congratulations - she is a beautiful baby. You have been in my prayers and thoughts daily. Rick sends his love and Meaghan asked me to tell you she will be praying for Bronwyn. I love that you meet Sarah - God certainly puts people in the right places at the right time. I love you guys!!

Hello Davis family + 1! Andrea and I are back from holidays now and are catching up. We are keeping you all foremost in our prayers. We hope to be in Edmonton this weekend to pay you a visit if it works - will take you out for a B-day dinner - try not to get hammered Bert (again). Will work on dumping the kid and then confirm (of course we love him). Love you all - take care.
Mike (Andrea will have something to say - she always does). Hey is this word verification a test - why do they make it so hard?
